Talia Diskin is a fellow researcher at the Minerva Center for the Rule of Law Under Extreme Conditions at the University of Haifa. She was a post-doctoral fellow at the Center between October 2021 and September 2023. Talia holds a B.A (Psychology and Communication), an LL.B (Law) and an M.A (Culture Research, cum laude) from Tel Aviv University. During her M.A and doctoral studies, Talia was granted with several scholarships and awards, among them a scholarship from the Zvi Meitar Center for Advanced Legal Studies, and in 2018 she received the Ben Halpern award from AIS (Association for Israel Studies) for best Ph.D. dissertation for her study: “A Law of Our Own: Legal and Moral Values in Children and Youth Periodicals in the State of Israel, 1948-1958”, supervised by Prof. Assaf Likhovski. Between the years 2018-2021 Talia was a post-doctoral fellow at The Ben-Gurion Institute for the Study of Israel and Zionism, Ben Gurion University of the Negev.
Her book: The Law and the Child: Legal and Social Discourse in Children’s Journalism During Israel’s First Decade (2022), was published by The Ben-Gurion Research Institute for the study of Israel and Zionism, The Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and the David Berg Foundation Institute for Law and History, The Buchmann Faculty of Law, Tel Aviv University.
